Another record month for the housing market

May 28, 2021

With the monthly national average house price increase going up by another 1.8%, it would appear the current housing boom shows no signs of abating.

The East of England is performing well once again according to Rightmove showing a monthly increase of 2% (7.3% increase since March 2020).

Since the lockdown, people’s requirements in their homes appears to have changed. The biggest factor would seem to be more space with the monthly change in larger properties (4 bed detached and above) increasing by 3.1% (10.8% since March 2020) compared to 3 & 4 bed semi/terraced houses which saw a monthly increase of just 1% (7.9% since March 2020)

With house prices rising, the asking price going up and stock decreasing, will this boom ever end? What are your thoughts on this current trend? Will it go up, down or stay the same over the next 12 months? At TJ Property and Development, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Email us at TJPAD and let us know your thoughts.
