Exciting development starts in Peterborough

Mar 11, 2021

University comes to town (although it’s already here, just moving)

Anglia Ruskin University currently has 39,400 students worldwide. A small proportion of those study at the current Campus based at the Guild House, just off the Oundle Road in Peterborough. Work has now already started for a new £30m University in the City Centre. Due to open in September 2022 for 2,000 students with an ambition to offer courses to 12,500 students by 2030. This can only be good news for the continuing development of Peterborough to continue its growth and at least maintaining its status of being the 5th fastest growing city in the country (according to Cllr John Holdich leader of Peterborough City Council).

So what does this mean for jobs in Peterborough? With forecasts predicting 170 jobs and 300 supply jobs, the long term employment potential in the region looks positive. In the immediate future, 50 construction jobs are due to be created in building the £30m project.
